Safae El Kadi
Born in 1999 in El Jadida.
Lives and works in Tetouan.
A multi-disciplinary visual artist, her work transcends the limits of pictorial and sculptural art, through a deconstruction of the material and the creative process. Her academic career, punctuated by her graduation from the Institut National Des Beaux-Arts de Tétouan in 2021 and a master's degree in documentary film in 2023, nourishes her artistic expression. Her approach is deeply rooted in her relentless quest to reveal the hidden depths of the apparent surface of objects, questioning their relationship to meaning. She engages in a playful, childhood-like exploration of the surface, which she sees as a rich source of understanding. In her work, she immerses herself in the plastic elements that make it up, without seeking to transcend them, preferring to confer changing and sometimes contradictory properties on the material.
