Gallery
Art space
Founded by Hicham Daoudi in 2016, Comptoir des Mines Galerie is an atypical art space which has gained appreciation and recognition on both national and international art scene thanks to its inimitable building, its original artistic direction and its engaged vision. Comptoir des Mines Galerie as a place and as a project, is often describes as a one-of-a-kind experience, promoting original, raw, deep and bold artists and works.
The 1'200 sqm space – loved by art and architecture enthusiasts, nationals and foreigners, hosts a dozen of events throughout the year including vernissages, exhibitions, private visits and collectors’ events and art fairs’ participation. From having housed an important “off” of Marrakech Biennale and Hassan Hajjaj’s carte blanche “Mi Casa Su Casa” in 2016, it quickly became a place to meet, discover and celebrate Art.
The building
Built in 1932, the building was originally the headquarters of “Comptoir des Mines” – a mining company. This timeless and unmistakably art-deco gem, which architecture lies in two wings, is one of the city's historic heritages, meticulously refurbished following the original style from the terrazzo floors to chandeliers, doors and furniture. Upon once visit, you might notice the large "CM" written in golden mosaic on the floor of the entrance – initials of the historical company, underlining one of our core value: authenticity, reflected in every project we carry.
Comptoir des Mines Galerie became a reference for artists, collectors, a place to meet, discover and celebrate.
